Discover Robertson House Inn

Robertson House Inn is a fine example of early Loyalist Georgian Architecture that has been “Plaqued” as a Historic Landmark under the Ontario Heritage Act. The Inn was originally erected around 1810 and may be the first building constructed in Brockville, and was first operated as an Inn.
In the 1810’s it developed a reputation as a haven for smugglers who hustled illicit contraband across the border. In the 1850’s the Inn was purchased by Judge Malloch, who gave it as a wedding gift to his daughter Martha, and son-in-law David Robertson. The house remained as private residence up until 1994 when it was purchased and changed back to a commercial property housing legal offices and the Inn, then a licenced Inn, as it is now.
